PIPING AND LAYOUT ENGINEER
Description
The piping and Layout Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, and execution of piping and plant layout activities for engineering projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop piping and plant layout designs, drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Review technical specifications, calculations, and design deliverables.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, procurement, construction, and subcontractors.
- Participate in project execution, technical evaluations, quantity estimations, and cost control activities.
- Support construction and commissioning activities through field engineering and technical assistance.
- Identify technical risks and propose efficient engineering solutions to optimize project performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in piping engineering and plant layout design, preferably within the Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or Energy sectors.
- Proven experience in the preparation and review of piping layouts, isometric drawings, material specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Good understanding of international codes, standards, and industry practices related to piping systems and plant design.
- Experience with 3D design and modeling software such as PDMS, E3D, SP3D, AutoCAD, or similar engineering tools.
- Familiarity with P&IDs, piping material classes, equipment layouts, routing studies, and interference checks.
- Knowledge of piping stress analysis principles, constructability reviews, and field engineering support.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, Procurement, and Construction departments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are advantageous.
